DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN TORO: REGULATORY COUNCIL
 In the 70s of the
20th century, the first steps were taken to create what was to become Toro
Designation of Origin, which culminated in 1987. The Regulating Council for the
Toro Designation of origin currently guarantees 34 wineries, 7 of them are
located in Valladolid. The area governed by the Toro D.O. amounts to 62,000
hectares, and 8,000 of them are devoted to vineyards.
