The Oenotourism Office of Valladolid
 The City Hall, the
County Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Hotel owners of Valladolid, under the Tourist Agreement ‘Asomate a Valladolid’, founded the Oenotourism Office of Vallaodlid.
The office intends
to respond not only to the increasing current demand of part of the tourism
sector but also to the great interest in Wine culture and tradition.
The Oenotourism
Office aims at promoting those wineries belonging to any of the 4 designations
of origin in the Province or wineries including an officially recognized
quality seal on their products. Thus the office seeks to increase the number of
visitors in the area as well as wine sales in the wineries.
Activities
The Oenotourism
Office will include a Full program of activities to help promote and increase
familiarity with the different areas in the province; among the different
activities carried out by the office, the following need to be mentioned:

Making and updating
a full list of the Oenotourism resources in the province.

Promoting Valladolid as a wine tourist destination.

Establishing direct
contact among the register members and gaining new ones.

Designing tourist
routes and marking them as well as those participating businesses registered
with the Office.

Assessing wineries
to improve their facilities and tourism services.

Creating and
disseminating all sorts of publications ( Press articles, promotional
brochures…) comprising all the wineries and businesses along with natural and
cultural resources of the different areas.

Participating in
tourism fairs as well as in any other tourism events that might help promote
the Office and its members.

Establishing
contacts and follow-up processes with travel agencies and tour-operators to
promote the different routes in the province.

Designing and
updating a promotional Website.

Participating in
both direct and reverse trade missions arranged by any administration in order
to promote technical visits and travel for wine-industry related professionals.
Who can become a member of the Oenotourism Office?
The Oenotourism
Office consist of all those wineries and companies related in some way with the
wine industry as well as with the tourism sector that apply for their
membership and fulfill certain minimum requirements to guarantee a satisfactory
level of quality for prospective tourists. Along with wineries, companies joining
the oenotourism offer may be from among the following:

Accomodation
(Hotels, centers of rural tourism and rural lodging, royal inns, etc…)

Restaurants
-
Specialized and
Gourmet shops (Wine and other typical products in the area)

Other services.
Our Office works
side by side with all the city halls and tourist information offices in the
province, with the regulating councils for the different Designations of origin
in the province of Valladolid, and with ASOVINTCAL. Then, travel agencies and
tour-operators are offered vacation packages comprising all these heritage,
tourism and cultural resources under the common denominator of culture and wine
traditions.
Our Office is a
non-profit association to promote new ideas and scenarios to improve whatever is
necessary to comply with our goal. A committee, with representatives from the
different collaborating institutions and the staff of the Oenotourism Office
itself, is to be created to hold periodical follow-up meetings.
